Function: 8 Limitation: None Issue original standard airworthiness certificates for U.S.- registered aircraft and original airworthiness approvals for engines, propellers, parts, and appliances that conform to the approved design requirements and are in condition for safe operation. Function: 9 Limitation: None Issue special airworthiness certificates, in the experimental category, for the purpose of show compliance with 14 CFR chapter 1, for U.S.-registered aircraft which have under gone changes to the type design and require flight test prior to the issuance/reissuance of an airworthiness certificate. Function: 11 Limitation: None Issue original/recurrent special airworthiness certificates, in the experimental category, for the purposes of, market survey, research and development , and crew training on U.S. -registered aircraft Function 16 Limitation: None Issue special flight permits for U.S-registered aircraft for the purposes outlined in 14 CFR part 21, sections 21.197(a)(1), (2), (3), (4), (5), and 21.197(b). Function: 17 Limitation: None Issue replacement for lost, stolen, or mutilated standard or special airworthiness certificates if proper documentation can be obtained from the applicant Function: 18 Limitation: None Issue original export airworthiness approvals for class I products in accordance with provisions of part 21, subpart L Function: 19 Limitation: None Issue original export airworthiness approvals for Class II products in accordance with the provisions of CFR Part 21 Subpart L Function: 20 Limitation: None Issue original export airworthiness approvals for Class III products that are manufactured and located in the United States in accordance with CFR Part 21, Subpart L. Function: 21 Limitation: None Make conformity determinations (includes "test" installation conformity determinations) on aircraft, engines, propellers, and parts thereof to be used for design evaluation programs (e.g., TC and STC), and complete all necessary reports, and approval tags. Function: 22 Limitation: None Issue conformity certifications on behalf of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for components manufactured by U.S. suppliers for non-U.S. product manufacturers. Determinations of conformity to the design, test, and quality requirements may be accomplished by a DAR only after the FAA has received notification from the CAA of the country in which the product is located. Function 46 Limitation: None Issue original/recurrent special airworthiness certificates, in the experimental category, for the purposes of operating amateur-built aircraft, on U.S. -registered aircraft Maintenance DAR Functions (Limitations None) Function Code 23 - Issue recurrent standard airworthiness certificates for U.S.-registered aircraft, Function Code 24 - Issue recurrent standard airworthiness certificates for non-U.S. manufactured aircraft imported from countries other than the country of manufacture with whom the United States has a bilateral agreement(s). Function Code 25 - Issue recurrent special airworthiness certificates for U.S .-registered restricted category aircraft. Function Code 27 - Issue recurrent/original special airworthiness certificates for primary category aircraft. Function Code 28 - Issue recurrent/original special airworthiness certificate, in the experimental category, for the purposes of operating amateur built aircraft, market survey, research and development, and crew training on U.S.-registered aircraft. Function Code 29 - Issue special flight permits for U.S.-registered aircraft for the purposes outlined in section 21.197(a)(1), (2), (4), and 21.197(b). Function Code 31 - Issue recurrent export airworthiness approvals for Class I products in accordance with part 21, subpart L. Function Code 32 - Issue recurrent export airworthiness approvals for Class II products that are manufactured and located in the United Stated in accordance with part 21, subpart L. Function Code 33 - Issue replacements for lost, stolen, or mutilated standard or special airworthiness certificates if the proper documentation can be obtained from the applicant.
Function Code 46-Issue original/recurrent special airworthiness certificates, for the purpose of operating United States (U.S.)-registered amateur-built aircraft.
Function Code 47-Issue recurrent/original and replacement special airworthiness certificates. Experimental, for the purposes of operating U.S. registered Light-Sport Aircraft.
Function Code 48– Issue recurrent/original and replacement special airworthiness certificates, for U.S. registered light-sport category aircraft and special flight permits for light-sport category aircraft production flight-test operations.
Function Code 50-Issue a statement of completeness for alterations that use DER approved data. Perform management of design and compliance data in support of major alterations by reviewing the applicant’s data package for completeness to the applicable airworthiness standards
